Our Frames

Our frames are handmade in a small town in Italy by high skilled craftsman using a mix of traditional and contemporary methods.

They are made from the highest quality acetate and metal and are individually designed by our founders.

Yes. We offer a free personalisation service where you can have a bespoke embossed monogram of your initials on your leather frame case. This can be done at checkout.

Note: personalised items cannot be returned or refunded.

Please see T&C’s

We suggest storing your glasses in the case supplied when they’re not on your gorgeous face.

We recommend cleaning all our frames and lenses using our micro fibre cloth which is supplied as standard with your frame.

For a more thorough clean we advise you purchase our Clean & Repair Kit which comes with an additional microfibre cleaning cloth, a cleansing lens spray and a mini screwdriver to allow easy home maintenance.

Our Lenses

Our optical and sun frames are available with or without prescription lenses. We have a range of lenses for whatever you’re looking for.

All our lenses come with a hard, toughened multi-coated lens comprising of an anti-reflective coating & hard scratch resistant coating.

This coating prevents reflected glare, allowing the majority of visible light to pass through the lenses, making them even better to see through. People looking at you get a nice view of your eyes, too.

Scratched lenses are no fun, which is why our lenses all have a hard-anti-scratch coating included. Please still keep them in their case when you’re not wearing them though: they’re tough, but not indestructible.

All our lenses come with a water-resistant coating that repel water from the lens surface. It also has an anti-static feature that keep dust and dirt away making it easy to clean.

You can also upgrade your lenses with our blue light filter. It blocks blue light that comes from artificial lighting like digital screens such as VDU, mobile phones etc.

Even though there is not much scientific evidence to support this, it has been known to help your eyes feel more comfortable if you work behind a computer for most parts of day or suffer from eye strain from artificial lighting.

Most prescriptions require standard 1.5 index lens. Stronger prescriptions may require high-index lenses, which are lighter and flatter, resulting in a thinner finish.

For the ultimate finish we recommend:

· Powers up to +/- 2.50 - Standard 1.5 index (included)

· Powers between +/-2.75 and +/-4.00 - Thin + Light 1.6 index lens

· Powers between +/-4.25 and +/-5.50 - Super Thin + Light 1.67 index lens

· Powers between +/-5.75 or higher - Ultra Thin + Light 1.74 index lens

Our tinted sun lenses are available as prescription and non-prescription. They all come with full UV400 protection, a hard-toughened multi-coated lens comprising of an anti-reflective coating, scratch resistant.

What if I have problems with my glasses?

If you are having any problems with the vision when looking through your glasses, there can be a few reasons as to why you may be experiencing these problems.

1) This could be because it can usually take up to 2-3 weeks for your eyes to adjust to new prescription lenses.

2) It can be due to the frames not fitting correctly.

Small adjustments are usually necessary to ensure you are looking through the centre of the lenses. You can take them into your local optician to have them adjusted where most opticians will be happy to help make the necessary adjustments.

If you are still having visual issues with your glasses even after this please contact us at info@pryzmeyewear.com.

As our frames are available in one size it may be natural that you may need to have them adjusted to make them fit the best. If you feel small adjustments are required, you can take them into your local optician to have them adjusted where most opticians will be happy to help make the necessary adjustments.

Please email info@pryzmeyewear.com with a photo of the damage and a description of what happened with your order number as subject line and we will be in touch within 3-5 working days.

Your Prescription

The optometrist is legally required to issue a copy of your prescription following an eye examination. If you do not have this, you can request a copy of your prescription from the place of your most recent eye test.

Please ensure that the prescription includes:

1) The prescription that is to be dispensed.

2) Signature of qualified optometrist that performed the test

3) Date of examination & expiry

All of this information is required to complete your order.

Prescriptions sometimes refer to the OD and the OS. These are the Latin initials for your right eye (Oculus Dexter) and left eye (Oculus Sinister).

The SPH indicates the amount of lens power, measured in dioptres, that you need to achieve best vision. If the number has a minus (-) sign, you are short-sighted where you generally struggle to see objects in the distance. If the number has a plus sign (+), you are long-sighted where you generally struggle to see clearly up close. If your sphere says plano, PL, 0.00, ∞, you have a zero spherical power where you are neither long nor short-sighted.

The CYL indicates the amount of lens power for astigmatism. Astigmatism is when your eye isn’t completely spherical, but more “rugby ball” shaped. If you have no astigmatism the CYL box will be blank. The cylinder number may be a minus(-) or a plus(+).

The AXIS is the angle the lens is set at to correct astigmatism and is only present if you have a cylinder value. If there is a CYL there is always an AXIS. If you have no astigmatism the CYL and AXIS boxes will be blank.

The ADD, or NEAR ADD, is the additional magnifying power required for reading or near work. If you’re buying online and your prescription includes an ADD, you will need to let us know if you’d like the spectacles for distance vision (DV) or reading (NV).

The Inter ADD, is the specific additional magnifying power required for reading at your computer work distance (generally arms’ length). This is different to the near add as the inter add is tailored for the longer range of vision hence it has a different focusing power.

A Near vision prescription is an individual prescription made specifically for your eyes issued by your optometrist. Whereas reading magnifying glasses are all-purpose glasses with the same power in both lenses designed solely to assist people with close focusing issues.

Magnifying glasses do not require a prescription.

This is not a problem, in most circumstances.

We will contact you once we have looked at a copy/scan of your prescription.

Please note: additional charges may apply for more specialised lenses.

Unfortunately, not. Contact lens and spectacle prescriptions are different due as contact lenses sit closer on the eye.

Non-prescription optical or sunglasses

No particular information required. All you need is select your favourite frames and lens options and you are good to go.

Prescription Optical or Sunglasses

You need a valid prescription that includes:

1) The prescription that is to be dispensed.

2) Signature of qualified optometrist that performed the test

3) Date of examination & expiry

4) And pupillary distance (PD)

When customising your frames you can upload a photo or scanned copy of the prescription

Please note that your order will not begin production until we have received a scan/photo of you signed prescription.

We do recommend using an up to date prescription when ordering your optical/sun frames. In order to update your prescription, visit your local optician and they will happily issue you a copy of your new up to date prescription which you can then use to order.

If you feel that your existing prescription is still visually adequate you can still use this.

Please be aware that if you are using an expired prescription, this is at your own discretion and we cannot be held liable for any visual problems due to a change in your prescription.

This is the distance between your pupils in mm, which is needed to correctly position your lenses in your frame. This measurement won’t necessarily be written on the copy of your prescription. You can either ask your optician for this measurement or alternatively follow the steps of how to measure it yourself:

1. Stand around 6 inches away from a mirror.

2. Hold a ruler against your brow.

3. Close your right eye then align the ruler’s 0 mm with the center of your left pupil.

4. Look straight then close your left eye and open your right eye.

5. The mm line that lines up to the center of your right pupil is your PD.

See image below

If you are unable to obtain this measurement yourself, please be aware a generic pupillary distance will be used.

Online, we can cater between:

· Sphere (SPH) between -6.00 and +6.00

· Cylinder (CYL) between -3.00 and +3.000

Prescriptions outside this require particular measurements and adjustments to ensure best vision can be obtained from your glasses. Hence, we advise to purchase non-prescription frames and visit your local optician where the lenses can be more accurately fitted.

Please note: In certain cases, if we are unable to fulfil your prescription in a particular frame choice, we will contact you to discuss other options. This may only occur if certain complex prescriptions are paired with an unsuitable frame style.

Unfortunately, not. Varifocals and Bifocals require particular measurements and adjustments to be taken whilst you are wearing the frame, to ensure best vision can be obtained from your glasses. Hence, we advise to purchase non-prescription frames and visit your local optician where the lenses can be more accurately fitted.
